PRIVACY POLICY

We, WorkerAnts LLC (“WorkerAnts”, “our”, “us” or “we”), are providing this privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) to let you know how we collect, use, protect and share certain information that we obtain through the website at www.workerants.com (the “Site”). We invite all visitors to, or members of, the Site (“you”) to carefully review this Privacy Policy before continuing to access or use the Site.  Each time you use the Site, you signify that you agree to be bound by the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy.  If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, you must discontinue using the Site and terminate your membership if you are a registered member.

Welcome to WorkerAnts!

Here at WorkerAnts you can engage in all sorts of activities.  You can sign up for a membership, create an online profile, post photos, build an online network, view other members’ profiles, participate in group activities (such as asking and answering questions and commenting on other members’ posts), find, support and rate non-profit organizations listed on the Site and customize your avatar by purchasing outfits- just to name a few.  Each of these activities is a great way to spend your time and know that you are also doing something to make the world a better place.  In order to create and maintain this vibrant community though, we request and display some personal information to other members and visitors.   We also care about your privacy, so please take the time to read this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

We collect and store the information that you submit through the Site, which includes information that you provide to us for the purpose of registering with us and that can identify you, such as your first and last name, e-mail addresses, user name and password, among other things (“Personal Data”).  We may collect and store information relating to any transactions carried out between you and us on or in relation to the Site, including information relating to any purchases you make of our goods or services (such as outfits for your Ant avatar) and like other website services we also collect and store other non-personally identifiable data that we gather through cookies and other tracking technologies (“Data”).  We may also request additional information from you throughout the Site or collect information about you through other methods, including research surveys or information we obtain from third parties, including verification services, data services, as well as public sources.  In addition, the Site provides search functionality and we collect the searches conducted on the Site by you and may combine that information with other information from you.  You can choose not to provide information to us, but in general some information about you is required in order for you to enjoy the benefits of being a member of the Site.

A cookie consists of information sent by a web server to a web browser, and stored by the browser. The information is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. This enables the web server to identify and track the web browser.

In addition, we use Google Analytics to analyze the use of this website.  Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website use by means of cookies, which are stored on the users’ computers. How We Use Information We Collect

We use Personal Data and Data for purposes of providing you our products and services, as well as improving our products and services and the content and advertising, which may include market research.

From time to time, we may contract with selected third parties that provide services on our behalf to maintain the Site, provide customer communications, and provide other services.  The Personal Data and Data that we obtain through the Site may be accessed by these third parties, solely on our behalf, but we generally do not authorize these service providers to make any other use of your Personal Data.  We do not otherwise disclose your Personal Data to third parties, unless such disclosure is required by law, necessary in connection with a legal claim or proceeding, or otherwise necessary to protect the rights or interests of WorkerAnts or third parties.

All our website financial transactions are handled through our payment services provider, PayPal, or through CafePress if you are purchasing goods through the Ant Store. You can review the PayPal privacy policy at www.paypal.com and the CafePress privacy policy at www.cafepress.com.  We will share information with PayPal and CafePress only to the extent necessary for the purposes of processing payments you make via our website and dealing with complaints and queries relating to such payments.

What if I want to invite someone else to join?

If you do become a member of WorkerAnts, you can share the joy (and also potentially earn Ant Tracks) and invite other individuals to join by providing us with their first names and email addresses. We will use this information to send these potential members an email invitation to join WorkerAnts. The only way these individuals can become members, however, is if they come to the Site and join themselves. We do not use this information for other purposes.

You have choices!

You can choose not to provide us with any information, although it may be needed to take advantage of certain features we offer on the Site.  You can change your profile information at any time, manage who can see certain personal information and control how other members, and we, communicate with you. You can also close your account as described here. If you want to leave us, we will be sad, but you can close your WorkerAnt account by contacting us at the email address listed below. We will send you an e-mail to confirm your request. After you close an account, you will not be able to sign in or access any of your personal information. If you miss us though, you can choose to open a new account at any time. Please note that we may retain certain information associated with your account in our archives, including for analytical purposes as well as for recordkeeping purposes.

As a member of the Site, you can change your e-mail subscription choices at any time on your My Backyard page. Whether registered as a WorkerAnts member or not, you will have the opportunity to unsubscribe from promotional messages in any such e-mail we may send. Please note that we reserve the right to send you other communications, including service announcements and administrative messages, which you may not opt out of.

Finally, you can use the toolbar on most browsers to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, notify you when you receive a new cookie, disable third party cookies, or cookies altogether.  For example, in Internet Explorer you can refuse all cookies by clicking “Tools”, “Internet Options”, “Privacy”, and selecting “Block all cookies” using the sliding selector. Please be aware that if you refuse to accept cookies from the Site or block all cookies, you may not be able to utilize all of the features of the Site.

Children’s Privacy Policy

WorkerAnts does not offer services directed to children. Any use or access by anyone under the age of 13 is prohibited. If an individual whom we know to be a child under age 13 sends us Personal Data, we will delete or destroy such information as soon as reasonably possible.

There are links on our Site to connect you to other websites.  We have no control over those external websites and they do not operate under this Privacy Policy.  Take the time to examine the privacy policies posted on those other websites so that you understand their procedures for collecting, using, protecting and disclosing your personal information.

WorkerAnts is global, but formally located in the United States. Anyone visiting the Site from outside the United States should read the below.

If you are visiting WorkerAnts from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located and our central database is operated. The data protection and other laws of the United States and other countries might not be as comprehensive as those in your country, but please be assured that we take steps pursuant to laws in the United States to ensure that your privacy is protected. By using our products and services, you understand that your Personal Data and Data may be transferred to our facilities and those third parties with whom we share it as described in this Privacy Policy.

Waiver

WORKERANTS ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY OR LIABILITY WITH REGARD TO ANY THEFT, LOSS, ALTERATION OR MISUSE OF PERSONAL OR OTHER INFORMATION LAWFULLY PROVIDED BY WORKERANTS TO THIRD PARTIES, OR WITH REGARD TO THE FAILURE OF ANY THIRD PARTY TO ABIDE BY THIS PRIVACY POLICY OR AGREEMENT BETWEEN THAT THIRD PARTY AND WORKERANTS.

In sum, we can’t control others and will not be responsible for their actions, omissions or failures, so please be aware of that fact.
