The Brighter Bahamas Foundation is committed to promoting literacy for Bahamian children. Their work focuses on encouraging reading at a young age, helping parents understand the importance of reading as a gateway to academic, economic, and civic success, and ensuring universal access to children’s literature. Their programs include research and advocacy, providing free books to newborns through a Hospital Visits project, and the establishment of an intra-Bahamas network of small-scale, free libraries, and a used book distribution network.
