The official WorkerAnts’ Colony
For those WorkerAnts from or living in the U.S. next week is Thanksgiving! This holiday is a time to hang out with family and friends or at least enjoy a long weekend. It is also a time for some of us, like me, to deliberately disregard all advice about how to eat healthy over the holidays. This rebellious disregard generally sounds like this in my head: “Lalala, I can’t hear you conscience/pricey gym membership/helpful mother/health-nut friends, my mouth is so full my ears are stuffed.” Luckily, this Thanksgiving instead of planning the great pecan pie bake-off at WorkerAnts.com, we decided to celebrate what is truly global and meaningful about Thanksgiving – gratitude.
No matter where we are in the world or what occasion we observe in November it is important to remember reasons that we have to be grateful. Focusing on what is good and right in the world and in our lives can help us feel less depressed, more satisfied, and generally more hopeful for the future. So share with us one to three reasons you are grateful – we would love to hear them! To kick it off- here are three reasons we at WorkerAnts are grateful:
- Our revised site launched this year and we are so grateful for the positive response from users.
- We have been able to volunteer at and write articles about some wonderful organizations! The amount of good that people are doing in the world amazes us daily.
- We are grateful for each and every one of you. Whenever we at WorkerAnts see people suffering, like the #Yazidi women who were sold by ISIS into *** slavery, we sometimes feel overwhelmed by how evilly people can act and how much work there is to do to help people. It seems that at such times one of you either writes to us about a new charity that is helping others or shares how one of our articles has helped you. Your actions, passion and willingness to do good in this world encourage us.
For those of us that have found a reason or three to be grateful, pass it on here and offline. Be kind to people today, send a nice message to someone you know, donate to a charity. Do something to give others a reason to be grateful.
